Food Gathering refers to the activity of sending march parties to Food (Meat) resource tiles on the world map to collect large quantities of Meat.
Overview
Gathering is one of the most efficient ways to accumulate resources in Whiteout Survival. Food Gathering specifically targets Meat tiles scattered across the world map. Players send gathering marches that travel to the tile, collect resources over time, and automatically return home when full or when the tile is depleted.
Meat Tile Levels
Meat resource tiles appear at various levels on the world map:
| Tile Level | Meat Available | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Low | Common, found everywhere |
| Level 2 | Moderate | Scattered across the map |
| Level 3 | High | Less common, worth targeting |
| Level 4 | Very High | Rare, contested by players |
| Level 5 | Massive | Rare, often found in alliance territory |
Higher-level tiles contain more Meat and are more contested. Alliance territory control can grant access to higher-level exclusive tiles.
How to Gather
- Open the world map and look for Meat tile icons (usually depicted as animal/hunting imagery).
- Tap the tile to view available resources and current occupants.
- Send a march by tapping "Gather."
- Your troops will travel to the tile and begin collecting.
- Once the march capacity is full or the tile runs out, your troops return automatically.
Improving Gathering Efficiency
Several factors improve how much Meat you can gather per trip:
Heroes
Assign heroes with Gathering Speed or Load Capacity bonuses as the gathering march leader. These heroes significantly increase the amount of Meat collected per trip.
Research
The Economy Research tree contains technologies that boost:
- Gathering speed (faster collection)
- March capacity (more resources per trip)
- Meat-specific gathering bonuses
Chief Gear
Equipping Gathering-focused Chief Gear provides powerful bonuses to gathering speed and load capacity. A full Gathering gear set is one of the best investments for resource-focused players.
Alliance Territory
Being part of an alliance that controls territory near high-level tiles gives easier access and sometimes exclusive rights to those tiles.
Multiple Gathering Marches
Players can send multiple simultaneous gathering marches as their Command Center level increases march count. Maximizing the number of gathering marches running at all times is key to efficient resource collection.
Tips
- Always have marches out: Idle marches miss gathering opportunities — keep them working whenever possible.
- Target the highest-level tiles you can: The returns on Level 4–5 tiles are dramatically better than Level 1–2.
- Use gathering gear when not in combat: Switch to Gathering gear for resource runs, then switch back to Combat gear before wars.
- Coordinate with alliance: Avoid gathering on tiles claimed by alliance members to prevent conflict.
- Research Economy tree early: Gathering bonuses compound over hundreds of trips and are worth the investment.
