Wood is one of the four primary Resources in Whiteout Survival. It is a basic construction and crafting material used extensively in building upgrades and research.
Overview
Wood is gathered from forests and produced by lumber mills within the city. It is one of the most widely-used resources in the game, required for nearly every building upgrade and research project.
Production
Wood is produced by:
- Lumber Mills / Woodcutting Camps — City buildings that produce Wood passively over time
- Production rate increases with building level, Economy Research, and development hero bonuses
Gathering
Wood can also be gathered from forest tiles on the world map:
- Send troops to forest gathering tiles
- Troops gather Wood and return when complete or when the tile is depleted
- Gathering speed and capacity are improved through Economy Research and hero skills
Uses
Wood is used for:
- Building construction and upgrades
- Research projects in all three trees (Battle, Growth, Economy)
- Lower-tier troop training (T1–T5 primarily)
- Crafting materials
Protection
Wood stored in your city can be plundered by enemy attackers. The Storehouse protects a fixed amount of Wood from being stolen. Resources above the Storehouse limit are vulnerable.
Tips
- Keep lumber production buildings upgraded for passive Wood income
- Send regular gathering marches to forest tiles for additional Wood income
- Balance Wood production with Meat, Coal, and Iron for well-rounded resource income
- Protect excess Wood with the Storehouse or spend it down before going offline in dangerous states
