Chief Gears

Chief Gear is equipment worn by your Chief (player character) in Whiteout Survival. Unlike Hero Gear which is worn by heroes, Chief Gear is worn by the Chief themselves and provides broad bonuses to marches, city functions, and gathering activities.

Overview

Chief Gear provides the Chief with powerful stat bonuses that apply to different activities. The gear is organized into sets — collections of equipment designed to boost specific activities. Equipping a full set often unlocks a powerful set bonus in addition to individual piece bonuses.

Equipment Slots

The Chief has multiple gear slots:

Helmet — Head protection
Armor — Body protection
Legs — Lower body protection
Boots — Footwear
Weapon — Offensive weapon
Accessory — Special item slot

A full set consists of pieces designed to work together for a particular purpose.

Gear Sets

Chief Gear is organized into thematic sets, each designed for a specific activity:

Combat Set

Optimized for military operations:

Increases march troop ATK
Increases march troop DEF
Increases march troop HP
Reduces troop training cost
Increases march capacity

Best used for: Attacking enemies, SvS, Bear Hunt

Gathering Set

Optimized for resource collection:

Increases gathering speed
Increases gathering load capacity
Reduces gathering time
Boosts specific resource types

Best used for: Sending gathering marches, collecting from map tiles

Construction Set

Optimized for city building:

Reduces construction time
Reduces construction resource cost
Increases construction-related bonuses

Best used for: During heavy building phases, Furnace upgrades

Development Set

Optimized for research and city growth:

Reduces research time
Reduces research cost
Increases EXP gain

Best used for: During intensive research periods

Crafting Chief Gear

Chief Gear is crafted in the same way as Hero Gear:

Collect required crafting materials from events and gameplay
Craft pieces at the Gear Workshop
Upgrade gear from Blue → Purple → Gold quality for increasing stat bonuses

Switching Gear Sets

It is important to switch gear sets based on your current activity:

Wear Combat Set when attacking or defending
Wear Gathering Set when sending gathering marches
Wear Construction Set when upgrading buildings
Wear Development Set when researching

Many experienced players switch gear multiple times per day to maximize all bonuses.

Tips

Craft at least a full Blue-quality set for your most-used activities first
Upgrade your most-used set to Purple quality before starting on a second set
Always switch to the appropriate set before starting an activity — it makes a significant difference
Combat gear is the highest priority for competitive/PvP players
Gathering gear is the highest priority for growth-focused players
