Infantry are heavy melee soldiers and one of the three troop types in Whiteout Survival. They are characterized by high HP and solid defense, making them the most durable front-line fighters in the game.
Overview
Infantry are the backbone of most defensive armies and many offensive strategies. Their high HP allows them to absorb significant damage, protecting more fragile troops and holding defensive positions. Infantry are trained at the Infantry Camp.
Combat Role
- Counter Triangle: Infantry beat Lancers and are beaten by Marksmen
- Primary Role: Front-line tanks — absorb enemy attacks and protect allied formations
- Secondary Role: City defense — Infantry are excellent stationed defenders
- Best Against: Lancer-heavy enemy armies
- Vulnerable To: Marksman-heavy enemy armies
Troop Tiers
Infantry are available from T1 through FC10:
| Tier Range | Category | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| T1–T4 | Basic | Early-game infantry, easy to train |
| T5–T8 | Intermediate | Mid-tier infantry with improved stats |
| T9–T10 | Advanced | Strong standard infantry |
| T11 | Elite | Requires T11 Infantry research completion |
| T12 | High-Elite | Requires T12 Infantry research completion |
| FC1–FC10 | Fire Crystal | Most powerful infantry, requires Fire Crystals |
Higher tiers have significantly better ATK, DEF, and HP values, with each tier representing a substantial power increase over the previous.
Training Infantry
Infantry are trained at the Infantry Camp:
- Higher Infantry Camp levels unlock higher troop tiers
- Training capacity (queue size) increases with Infantry Camp level
- Training costs resources: primarily Meat and Wood (lower tiers), adding Coal and Iron at higher tiers
- Training speed is improved by Battle Research and hero skills
Combat Stats
Infantry have the highest base HP of the three troop types, making them the most survivable. Their ATK is moderate and DEF is solid.
Key infantry stats are improved by:
- Research: Shield Upgrade, Defensive Formation, Bulwark Formations, Close Combat, Survival Techniques
- Hero Skills: Smith provides Infantry-specific ATK, DEF, and HP bonuses
- Alliance Tech: Alliance military research bonuses
- State Buffs: Server-wide or event-specific buffs
Tips
- Use Infantry against Lancer enemies — the counter triangle advantage is significant.
- Keep Infantry as your primary defense garrison — their HP makes them durable against most attackers.
- Invest in the Infantry-focused Battle Research technologies (Shield Upgrade, Defensive Formation, etc.) to maximize their effectiveness.
- Pair Infantry with Smith as your march hero for maximum Infantry combat bonuses.
- Upgrade the Infantry Camp regularly — falling behind on camp level bottlenecks troop quality.
