The Hospital (also known as the Infirmary) is a core defensive building in Whiteout Survival. It treats wounded soldiers who are injured during combat, preventing them from being permanently lost.
Overview
When your troops take casualties in battle, injured soldiers are placed in the Hospital queue rather than being permanently eliminated — provided your Hospital has enough capacity. Soldiers that exceed capacity are permanently lost. Upgrading the Hospital is therefore critical for any player engaged in regular combat.
Functions
Healing Troops
Wounded troops are automatically placed in the Hospital after each battle. Healing begins immediately and takes time proportional to the troop's tier and the number of injured soldiers. Speedups can be used to accelerate healing.
Capacity
Each Hospital level increases the maximum number of troops that can be housed and healed simultaneously. If your Hospital is full when you take losses, the excess casualties are permanently killed.
| Level | Capacity (approx.) | Furnace Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2,000 | Furnace 1 |
| 5 | 10,000 | Furnace 5 |
| 10 | 25,000 | Furnace 10 |
| 15 | 50,000 | Furnace 15 |
| 20 | 100,000+ | Furnace 20 |
Note: Exact values may vary. Multiple Hospitals stack their capacity.
Multiple Hospitals
Players can build more than one Hospital to increase total healing capacity. This is especially important for players who field large armies or participate in high-intensity events like State vs State.
Healing Costs
Healing troops consumes resources — primarily Meat and sometimes other materials depending on troop tier. Higher-tier troops cost more to heal. The total healing cost scales with the number of injured troops.
Hospital vs Infirmary
In some versions of the game interface, this building may be labeled as the "Infirmary." Both names refer to the same building and function identically.
Tips
- Always upgrade your Hospital: Having insufficient capacity means permanent troop loss, which is very costly to recover from.
- Build multiple Hospitals: If you participate heavily in combat events, consider building 2–3 Hospitals for maximum capacity.
- Heal before events: Clear your Hospital queue before major events like SvS so you have full capacity available.
- Use healing speedups: Healing speedups are distinct from construction/research speedups — save them specifically for post-battle recovery.
- Watch your capacity during war: If your Hospital is nearly full, consider activating a peace shield to avoid permanent losses.
