Resources are the four primary materials used to construct and upgrade Buildings, train Units, and conduct Research in Whiteout Survival.
The Four Resources
Meat (Food)
Produced by the Hunter's Hut. Meat is the most universally required resource, used in nearly every construction and training action. It is also consumed to feed survivors.
Wood
Produced by the Sawmill. Wood is required from Furnace Lv. 11 onwards for most building upgrades. Not required in the early game.
Coal
Produced by the Coal Mine. Coal is needed from Furnace Lv. 4 onwards. Used in both construction and troop training.
Iron
Produced by the Iron Mine. Iron is required from Furnace Lv. 6 onwards. Used in late-game upgrades and higher-tier troop training.
Resource Production
Each resource-generating building produces resources passively over time. Production rate increases with building level.
| Resource | Produced By | Unlocked at | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Meat | Hunter's Hut | Early game | Required for all tiers of troop training |
| Wood | Sawmill | Early game | Required for buildings from Furnace Lv. 11+ |
| Coal | Coal Mine | Early game | Required for buildings from Furnace Lv. 4+ |
| Iron | Iron Mine | Early game | Required for buildings from Furnace Lv. 6+ |
Resource Gathering
In addition to passive production, resources can be gathered from resource tiles on the world map by sending marches. Lancer troops have the highest Load stat and are the most efficient for gathering.
| Resource Tile | Yields | Best Troop for Gathering |
|---|---|---|
| Hunting Ground | Meat | Lancer (highest Load) |
| Forest | Wood | Lancer (highest Load) |
| Coal Mine | Coal | Lancer (highest Load) |
| Iron Mine | Iron | Lancer (highest Load) |
Resource Protection
The Storehouse protects a fixed amount of each resource from enemy plunder. Resources above the protection threshold can be stolen during attacks.
Troop Training Costs
Training costs scale with troop tier. Reference values for Infantry (Meat/Wood/Coal/Iron per troop):
| Tier | Meat | Wood | Coal | Iron | Base Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| T1 | ~12 | — | — | — | 12 s |
| T5 | — | — | — | — | — |
| T10 | ~3,800 | ~2,850 | ~665 | ~138 | ~2 min |
| T11 | 6,970 | 5,228 | 1,220 | 253 | 3 min |
Lancer and Marksman training costs are similar to Infantry. Cost-reduction research and training speed-ups reduce these values.
