Marksman

Marksmen are ranged troops and one of the three troop types in Whiteout Survival. They deal consistent damage from range and are extremely effective against Infantry formations.

Overview

Marksmen are the precision ranged fighters of Whiteout Survival. They deal reliable, sustained damage from a distance, making them effective in siege situations and against Infantry-heavy defenders. Marksmen are trained at the Marksman Camp.

Counter Triangle: Marksmen beat Infantry and are beaten by Lancers
Primary Role: Ranged DPS — consistent damage dealers from range
Best Against: Infantry-heavy enemy armies
Vulnerable To: Lancer cavalry attacks

Marksmen are available from T1 through FC10:

Training Marksmen

Marksmen are trained at the Marksman Camp:

Upgrade the Marksman Camp to unlock higher marksman tiers
Training costs resources similar to other troop types
Training speed improved by Battle Research and hero skills

Combat Stats

Marksmen have the highest sustained DPS (damage per second) of the three troop types, dealing consistent damage over multiple rounds of combat. However, they have lower HP than Infantry and are very vulnerable to Lancer attacks.

Research: Marksman Armor, Targeted Sniping, Picket Lines, Precision Targeting, Defensive Formation
Hero Skills: Marksman-specialized combat heroes provide ATK, DEF, and HP bonuses
State Buffs: Various buffs can amplify Marksman damage output

Marksman Strategy

Defense

Marksmen are excellent defenders against Infantry attackers. Garrison Marksmen when you know your enemy relies primarily on Infantry.

Offense

Use Marksmen when:

Attacking Infantry-heavy defender cities
Long-range siege scenarios where sustained fire is needed
Coordinating with alliance members in rally attacks against Infantry-focused enemies

Vulnerability

Marksmen are critically weak to Lancer attacks — always scout enemy compositions before deploying Marksmen-heavy marches.

Tips

Invest in Marksman-focused research (Marksman Armor, Targeted Sniping, etc.) to maximize their damage output
Scout before attacking — Lancers will devastate Marksman formations
Marksmen are excellent for defending against Infantry-based opponents in SvS
Use a Marksman-specialist combat hero (if available) for your Marksman marches
Keep your Marksman Camp upgraded alongside your Infantry and Lancer Camps for a balanced force
