Speedups are consumable items in Whiteout Survival that instantly reduce the remaining time on construction projects, research, troop training, or healing queues. They are among the most valuable resources in the game.

Overview

Almost every timed activity in Whiteout Survival can be accelerated using speedups. As buildings and research reach higher levels, their completion times scale to hours or days — speedups allow players to compress this progress significantly.

Types of Speedups

Universal Speedups

Universal (or "General") speedups can be applied to any timed activity: construction, research, training, or healing. These are the most flexible and therefore the most valuable speedup type.

Category-Specific Speedups

Specialized speedups are restricted to one category:

Type Applies To
Construction Speedup Building upgrades and construction
Research Speedup Research technologies
Training Speedup Troop training queues
Healing Speedup Wounded troop recovery in the Hospital

Using a specific speedup type on its designated category is equally effective as a universal speedup — save universal speedups for situations where specific ones aren't available.

Speedup Durations

Speedups come in various time increments:

Duration Notes
1 Minute Useful for trimming small remainders
5 Minutes Small tasks
15 Minutes Short boosts
1 Hour Standard mid-range speedup
3 Hours Efficient for medium tasks
8 Hours High-value, covers most overnight jobs
24 Hours Full day — very valuable
3 Days Rare, premium item
7 Days Very rare, typically from major events

How to Use Speedups

  1. Start a construction, research, training, or healing job.
  2. Tap the timer on the active job.
  3. Select "Speed Up" or the speedup option.
  4. Choose one or more speedups from your inventory to apply.
  5. The timer reduces immediately.
    1. Optimal Speedup Usage ==
  • **Use specific speedups first:** Always consume category-specific speedups before universal ones to preserve flexibility.
  • **Don't waste on small timers:** A 1-minute residual time doesn't justify using a 1-hour speedup — many games let you finish tasks under a minute for free.
  • **Save for events:** Many events reward bonus points for completions during the event period — use speedups to maximize completion count.
  • **Batch use during events:** Speedup spending events (common in games like WOS) multiply the value of each speedup used — save large stacks for these windows.

Obtaining Speedups

Speedups are obtained from:

  • Daily missions and quests
  • Alliance help (tapping the "Help" button on alliance members' builds gives free speedup time to them)
  • Bear Hunt event rewards
  • State vs State event rewards
  • Alliance technology research
  • In-game store purchases

Alliance Help Mechanic

When you queue a construction or research job, you can request "Help" from your alliance. Each alliance member who helps reduces the timer by a small percentage. This free speedup can save significant time on large projects, especially with an active alliance.

Tips

  • Never spend universal speedups carelessly: They're the rarest and most versatile — save them for when you can't use specific ones.
  • Max out alliance help first: Always use the free alliance help before applying paid speedups.
  • Save 8h and 24h speedups for big jobs: Small speedups on large timers barely make a dent — use high-value speedups on expensive, long jobs.
  • Events multiply value: Speedup-spending events are the best time to use large batches — you earn back points worth more than the time saved.
