Buildings are the core structures of your city in Whiteout Survival. Each building serves a specific purpose — from generating heat and training troops to conducting research and storing resources. Upgrading buildings increases your city's power and unlocks new capabilities.
Buildings require Resources (Meat, Wood, Coal, Iron) and time to construct and upgrade. The Furnace level determines which other buildings you can upgrade and when.
Military Buildings
Military buildings are used to train and support your armies.
Infantry Camp
The Infantry Camp is where Infantry troops are trained. Higher levels unlock higher troop tiers and increase training speed and capacity.
- Function: Trains Infantry troops (T1–FC10)
- Key Stats: Training queue size, training speed
Lancer Camp
The Lancer Camp trains your Lancer cavalry troops. Lancers are effective against Marksmen in the combat counter triangle.
- Function: Trains Lancer troops (T1–FC10)
- Key Stats: Training queue size, training speed
Marksman Camp
The Marksman Camp trains Marksman (ranged) troops. Marksmen counter Infantry in the combat triangle.
- Function: Trains Marksman troops (T1–FC10)
- Key Stats: Training queue size, training speed
Barricade
The Barricade is a defensive structure that provides protection for your city during attacks.
Enlistment Office
The Enlistment Office manages troop recruitment and provides bonuses to troop training.
Inner City Buildings
Furnace
The Furnace is the most important building in Whiteout Survival. It is your city's headquarters and central power source.
- Function: Determines max level of all other buildings; provides heat to keep Survivors warm; generates city power
- Description: The Furnace starts as a large bonfire and grows into a massive heating tower as it levels up. Its level dictates which buildings can be upgraded and when.
- Heat Mechanic: The Furnace produces heat that protects Survivors from the cold. During snowstorms, insufficient heat will cause Survivors to fall sick and become unable to work.
- Power: Each upgrade increases building power, which contributes to your total city power score.
- Note: Upgrade times shown in the official wiki are base times without State Buff, Research, or hero skill reductions.
Research Center
The Research Center is where all technological research is conducted. A higher-level Research Center unlocks more advanced technologies and reduces research time.
- Function: Unlocks and conducts research in Battle, Growth, and Economy trees
- Prerequisite: Requires a minimum Furnace level to upgrade
Infirmary
The Infirmary heals wounded troops after battle. Troops that exceed the Infirmary's capacity are permanently lost.
- Function: Heals wounded troops; stores recovering soldiers
- Tip: Always keep your Infirmary upgraded to avoid permanent troop loss after battles
Embassy
The Embassy manages diplomatic relations and alliance reinforcements.
- Function: Allows alliance members to send reinforcements; enables diplomacy features
- Alliance Feature: Troops sent as reinforcements appear in the Embassy
Command Center
The Command Center manages your marching armies and expands your march capacity.
- Function: Increases march queue size and troop capacity per march
Storehouse
The Storehouse protects your resources from enemy raids.
- Function: Shields a portion of each resource type from plundering during attacks
- Tip: Keep the Storehouse upgraded to protect your stockpiles
Fire Crystal Buildings
Fire Crystal Buildings are advanced structures unlocked at higher Furnace levels, requiring Fire Crystals as a building material.
Tips
- Always prioritize upgrading the Furnace first — it gates all other building upgrades.
- Keep the Infirmary capacity high enough to recover from large battles.
- Upgrade all three military camps (Infantry, Lancer, Marksman) evenly to maintain a balanced army.
- The Storehouse is essential if you are in an aggressive state — protect your resources.
- Use Speed-Up items on long Research Center and Furnace upgrades.
