Research Center

The Research Center is the building where all technological research is conducted in Whiteout Survival. It is one of the most important buildings in the game alongside the Furnace, as research provides permanent bonuses that improve every aspect of gameplay.

Overview

The Research Center unlocks access to three main research trees — Battle, Growth, and Economy — as well as advanced trees for high-tier troops. Upgrading the Research Center increases the speed at which research is completed and unlocks more advanced research tiers.

Upgrade Requirements

The Research Center can only be upgraded to the current Furnace level. Upgrading requires:

Meat, Wood, Coal, and Iron (amounts scale with building level)
Construction time (reduced by Growth Research and Eugene's hero skill)

Research Time Reduction

Research duration is reduced by multiple factors that stack together:

Research Center level — each upgrade provides a base reduction
Growth Research technologies (construction and research speed upgrades)
Cloris hero skill — research speed reduction
State Buff — server-wide time reduction buffs
Alliance Aid — members can send help to reduce active research

Using all available reductions simultaneously provides the maximum research efficiency.

Keep the Research Center at max level (matching Furnace level) at all times
Prioritize Battle Research for competitive players; Economy Research for city growers
Assign Cloris as your permanent research hero for constant speed bonuses
Use Speed-Up items on the longest research projects (T11/T12 research trees can take weeks)
