More actions
The Shelter is a residential building in Whiteout Survival that houses your Survivors, providing them with rest, comfort, and protection from the cold.
Overview
Shelters are the homes of the survivors under your care. Keeping Shelters upgraded and well-furnished improves Survivor well-being, which in turn affects morale, productivity, and overall city power. Up to 8 Shelters can be constructed.
Capacity and Progression
- Each Shelter upgrade increases the Survivor population it can house
- Maximum capacity across all Shelters: 32 Survivors
- Each Shelter level requires a corresponding Furnace level
- Interior furniture must be maximized before proceeding to the next level
Furniture Effects
Upgrading Shelter furniture improves:
- Sleep quality
- Comfort level
- Survivor morale
- Warmth rating
- Overall city power
Medical Function
Before the Clinic is built, sick Survivors recover at the Shelter. Once the Clinic is constructed, medical care transfers there, allowing the Shelter to focus purely on housing.
Tips
- Upgrade all 8 Shelters in parallel for maximum power gains
- Keep Shelter furniture maximized — it contributes to power and Survivor well-being
- Survivor health and morale affect city productivity, so neglecting Shelters has indirect costs
