The Explorers Cabin is a building in Whiteout Survival that gives access to the game's exploration content, where a wagon of survivors fights enemies and gathers rewards. It becomes available early in a city's development.
Modes
Two modes are reached from the Explorers Cabin:
- Exploration -- a combat mode in which the player's wagon fights approaching enemies and collects rewards over time.
- Expedition -- a mission mode in which the player completes tasks, some involving combat, for resource rewards.
Idle rewards
The Explorers Cabin continues to generate rewards while the player is offline. Idle rewards accumulate over time, and a chest appears above the building once the maximum offline amount is reached. Rewards include Hero EXP, Steel and gear.
What Exploration is worth
Exploration is not only an idle trickle. It is a listed shard source for five heroes -- Charlie, Cloris, Eugene, Sergey and Smith -- which makes it one of the few ways to collect shards without spending anything.
It also pays Steel, and it is the mode the heroes' Exploration statistics are for: every hero page gives an Exploration line beside its Expedition one, and the two are not interchangeable.
