Cookhouse

More actions
The Cookhouse is one of the earliest buildings in Whiteout Survival, providing food for your Survivors to maintain their health and morale.
Overview
The Cookhouse is the second building unlocked in the game. It feeds the Survivors who live in the city's Shelters, converting Meat from the Hunter's Hut into meals. Without adequate nutrition, Survivor morale drops and illness can spread — even if other essential buildings like the Furnace and Shelters are well-maintained.
Mechanics
Food Quality
The Cookhouse allows players to adjust the quality of food served:
- Higher food quality improves Survivor satisfaction, health, and morale
- Lower food quality conserves Meat but may lead to unhappy or sick Survivors
- Access the food quality menu directly from the Cookhouse interface
Resource Dependency
The Cookhouse depends on Meat supplied by the Hunter's Hut:
- Ensure sufficient Hunter's Hut production to keep the Cookhouse running
- Cloris (Rare Marksman) boosts Meat production through her expedition skills
Upgrades
- Cookhouse upgrades improve food variety and serving capacity
- Each upgrade level requires a corresponding Furnace level
- Higher-level Cookhouses support larger Survivor populations at better food quality
Tips
- Build and upgrade the Hunter's Hut alongside the Cookhouse — they are directly dependent
- Don't neglect food quality — unhappy Survivors reduce overall city productivity
- Cloris Hero and Meat-focused Economy Research both help sustain food supply
