Beast Hunt refers to attacking the Beasts and Polar Terrors that roam the World Map in Whiteout Survival to earn rewards. It is distinct from the Beast Cage, the building that houses Pets.
Beasts
Beasts are creatures found across the World Map, ranging from level 1 to level 30, with higher levels unlocking as the state ages. They are defeated through solo attacks, and each attack costs 10 Stamina. Rewards include Resources, Gems, Hardened Alloys and Hero EXP. Example beasts include the Cave Hyena, Frost Gorilla, Titan Roc, Giant Elk, Musk Ox and Snow Leopard.
The fourteen kinds
The beasts of the wilderness are the same fourteen creatures that can be kept as Pets: a beast defeated on the map can be captured and housed in the Beast Cage, one of each type. Wider varieties appear as the city develops, and stronger beasts are harder to tame.
- Cave Hyena · Arctic Wolf · Musk Ox · Giant Tapir · Titan Roc
- Giant Elk · Snow Leopard · Cave Lion · Snow Ape · Iron Rhino
- Sabertooth Tiger · Mammoth · Frost Gorilla · Frostscale Chameleon
Pets holds the order in which they unlock and what each one is worth.
Polar Terrors
Polar Terrors are stronger than ordinary beasts and are defeated through rallies rather than solo attacks. Each Polar Terror rally costs 25 Stamina and yields greater rewards than ordinary beasts.
Because they need a rally, Polar Terrors are alliance work rather than solo work, and a great many events count them: Beast Whisperer asks for 1, 3, 6, 10 then 15 of them on its third day, State Merge for up to 25 on its second, and Symphony of Changes, Tundra Adventure, Treasure Hunter and Wander Theater each pay for rallying one or more.
Stamina
Attacking beasts consumes Stamina, which comes back at one point every five minutes up to a maximum of 200. Some heroes, such as Gina, reduce the Stamina cost of hunting — at maximum skill, from 10 to 8 per beast and from 25 to 20 per Polar Terror.
Stamina can also be restored rather than saved: the Arctic Wolf pet skill returns 35 to 60 Chief Stamina at once depending on its level, on a 23-hour cooldown. Stamina cans, bought or won from events, do the same.
Related events
Beast hunting contributes to events such as Alliance Mobilization and the Defeat Nearby Beasts event, which reward players for defeating beasts within a time window.
