World Map
More actions
The World Map is the shared state map of Whiteout Survival: the frozen tundra on which every player's city stands, alongside resource tiles, roaming beasts, neutral strongholds and the land that alliances fight to control. It is where gathering, scouting, rallies and open-world combat all take place.
Overview
Each state (server) has its own world map. Your city occupies one spot on it, surrounded by open ground — the Wilderness — that holds resource tiles, beasts and neutral structures. Every other player in the state shares the same map, which makes it the stage both for alliance cooperation and for conflict between players and alliances.
Your city
Your city is your base on the map. You can move it with a Teleport item: a Random Teleport drops it somewhere new, while an Advanced Teleport lets you choose the destination — most players use one to settle close to their alliance. While a Peace Shield is active, your city cannot be attacked.
The Wilderness
The ground between the cities is the Wilderness, where most open-map activity happens.
Resource tiles
Meat, Wood, Coal and Iron tiles are worked by sending troops out to gather them. Higher-level tiles yield more but take longer to clear, and tiles that sit inside alliance Territory are gathered faster.
Beasts
Beasts roam the Wilderness and can be attacked for resources, hero EXP and other rewards; stronger beasts appear further from the starting area. The alliance's cooperative hunts are organised at the Bear Trap during the Bear Hunt event.
Fortresses
Fortresses are neutral strongholds on the map that alliances capture and defend during Fortress Battles. They are not something an alliance builds — they are distinct from its own headquarters, described below.
Alliance territory
Alliances claim land by building an Alliance HQ — first an Icefield HQ, later a Tundra HQ — and extending Banners outward, each covering a 7×7 area that must connect back to the HQ or to another banner. Captured Territory speeds up gathering, extends alliance buff zones and raises the alliance's standing. Full details are on the Territory page.
Moving around the map
Troops reach the map through Marches, whose capacity and speed depend on the Command Center and on research. Several players can combine forces in a Rally against a strong target such as a Fortress or an enemy city. Teleport items reposition a city, and the Territory Teleporter lands one beside its alliance's HQ. Attacking another player is covered under Combat, with Scouting for intelligence beforehand and Plunder for the resources it takes.
