Fire Crystal Shards are an end-game material in Whiteout Survival used to research Fire Crystal Tech at the War Academy. They are the main bottleneck for unlocking and upgrading Fire Crystal (T11) troops, including the Helios units.
How to obtain
- Steel exchange — convert Steel at the War Academy (5,000 Steel = 1 Shard, up to 20 per day)
- Fire Crystal exchange — convert Fire Crystals (10 Fire Crystals = 13 Shards, up to 200 Fire Crystals per day)
- Weekly rewards — regular weekly Fire Crystal Shard distributions
- Packs — some in-game purchase packs
What the caps come to
The two exchanges have separate daily limits, so the most a player can produce in one day is fixed: 20 shards from Steel, and 260 from Fire Crystals — 200 Fire Crystals at 13 shards per 10 — for 280 shards a day, bought with 100,000 Steel and 200 Fire Crystals.
Uses
Fire Crystal Shards are spent on War Academy Fire Crystal Tech, which permanently boosts Infantry, Lancer and Marksman troop stats and unlocks the Helios units. The further tier-12 research (Exalted and Molten) is paid mainly in Refined Fire Crystal instead. Because the daily exchange caps limit how many shards can be gathered, they usually pace end-game troop research.
