The Icefire Warhymn League (IWL) is a cross-server 1v1 PvP tournament in Whiteout Survival. It is a week-long personal event in which players compete individually through a series of rounds. Registration requires a Furnace level of 30, and a state must be on Hero Generation 12 or later for the event to appear.

Format

The Icefire Warhymn League is fought as 1v1 matches. Each player prepares three troop-and-hero formations, which lock one minute before each round begins and cannot be changed during the battle. Players progress from qualifier rounds into elimination and pinnacle matches. Only the top 64 Chiefs in a Zone appear on the rankings.

Phases

The event week runs from Sunday to Saturday: Sunday is the Preview phase, and sign-up and the competition run from Monday to Saturday.

All times below are UTC; the in-game schedule tab converts them to local time. A lineup locks one minute before its round begins.

  • Sign-up — Monday and Tuesday. Signing up opens the squad screen, where three formations are set, each with a hero and troops. A formation left untouched is filled automatically with the most advanced troops the player can currently train, but failing to set any lineup at all counts as an automatic defeat once the battles start.
  • Qualifier — Wednesday. Up to ten rounds are played across ten time slots, from 12:00 to 21:00, with an opponent drawn automatically at each. Three defeats eliminate a Chief; the rest are ranked on points at the end of the day, and the top 64 go through.
  • Elimination — Thursday. The 64 remaining Chiefs are split into zones and groups and play best-of-three brackets: 10:00 cuts the field to 32, 16:00 to 16 and 22:00 to 8. Two wins out of three are needed to survive a round.
  • Pinnacle — Friday and Saturday. The last eight play best-of-three again: Friday 11:00 for the quarter-finals, Friday 23:00 for the last four, and the champion's final on Saturday at 11:00. Its winner is crowned Season Champion.

Squad and formations

A squad is three formations, each pairing a hero with a set of troops, and they are deployed in the order the player has set — the list can be dragged into a different order from the Edit Squad screen. The strength of a squad is the total battle power of its three formations.

Troop loss

The League uses a zero troop loss rule, so players can field their strongest formations without losing troops.

Predictions

During the event, players can predict the outcomes of Elimination and Pinnacle matches. Warhymn Testaments are earned from correct predictions as well as from league missions and battles; they are spent in the League Shop and do not expire between events.

Rewards

Rewards are based on tournament placement. The Champion receives an exclusive Island Decoration and a limited City Skin.
