The Icefire Warhymn League (IWL) is a cross-server 1v1 PvP tournament in Whiteout Survival. It is a week-long personal event in which players compete individually through a series of rounds. Registration requires a Furnace level of 30, and a state must be on Hero Generation 12 or later for the event to appear.

Format

The Icefire Warhymn League is fought as 1v1 matches. Each player prepares three troop-and-hero formations, which lock one minute before each round begins and cannot be changed during the battle. Players progress from qualifier rounds into elimination and pinnacle matches. Only the top 64 Chiefs in a Zone appear on the rankings. Qualifier points are built from the battle power a Chief keeps and the battle power the opponent loses, with a bonus for the win — but the game does not publish the coefficients, so no exact formula can be given here. A defeat still scores, and a tie is settled in favour of whoever reached the score first.

Phases

The event week runs from Sunday to Saturday: Sunday is the Preview phase, and sign-up and the competition run from Monday to Saturday.

All times below are UTC; the in-game schedule tab converts them to local time. A lineup locks one minute before its round begins.

  • Sign-up — Monday and Tuesday. Signing up opens the squad screen, where three formations are set, each with a hero and troops. A formation left untouched is filled automatically with the most advanced troops the player can currently train, but failing to set any lineup at all counts as an automatic defeat once the battles start.
  • Qualifier — Wednesday. Up to ten rounds are played across ten time slots, from 12:00 to 21:00, with an opponent drawn automatically at each. Three defeats eliminate a Chief; the rest are ranked on points at the end of the day, and the top 64 go through.
  • Elimination — Thursday. The 64 remaining Chiefs are split into zones and groups and play best-of-three brackets: 10:00 cuts the field to 32, 16:00 to 16 and 22:00 to 8. Two wins out of three are needed to survive a round.
  • Pinnacle — Friday and Saturday. The last eight play best-of-three again: Friday 11:00 for the quarter-finals, Friday 23:00 for the last four, and the champion's final on Saturday at 11:00. Its winner is crowned Season Champion.

Squad and formations

A squad is three formations, each pairing a hero with a set of troops, and they are deployed in the order the player has set — the list can be dragged into a different order from the Edit Squad screen. The strength of a squad is the total battle power of its three formations.

Troop loss

The League uses a zero troop loss rule, so players can field their strongest formations without losing troops.

Predictions

During the event, players can predict the outcomes of Elimination and Pinnacle matches. Warhymn Testaments are earned from correct predictions as well as from league missions and battles; they are spent in the League Shop and do not expire between events.

Rewards

Rewards are based on tournament placement, and they come from four places: the season ranking, the matches themselves, the league missions, and a shop that takes the event's own currency.

The season ranking is paid by mail once the event ends. Its gems are handed out as packs of 100; the table gives the combined value.

Season ranking rewards
Rank Icefire Way Lv. 1 Frostflame Knight Gems Warhymn Testament Mythic General Hero Shard
1 5 30 days 50,000 12,000 40
2 4 14 days 40,000 10,000 30
3–4 3 7 days 30,000 8,000 25
5–8 2 — 20,000 6,000 20
9–16 1 — 15,000 4,000 15
17–32 1 — 10,000 2,000 10
33–64 1 — 5,000 1,000 5

Icefire Way is a Mythic 3×3 island decoration, limited to one of its kind. At level 1 it gives 1,000 Prosperity and +1% Troops' Defense, and each level adds as much again, up to 10,000 Prosperity and +10% at level 10. Copies won are stored in the Island Storehouse. The Frostflame Knight city skin is granted for 30, 14 or 7 days by placement; the 30-day version carries Troops' Attack +2.0% from the moment it is claimed.

A state is paid for its own competitors. A Chief whose state placed someone in the top 16 receives the matching set, provided they logged in during the event and hold a Furnace of level 20 or above. A Chief who transfers states after reaching the top 16 leaves the rewards with the state they came from.

State rewards, by the rank of the state's competitor
Rank Fire Crystal Mythic General Hero Shard 100 Enhancement XP Components Treasure Box
1 25 3 5 5
2 20 2 4 4
3–4 15 1 3 3
5–8 10 — 2 2
9–16 5 — 1 1

Matches pay whatever the result. A lost Qualifier match has been seen to pay 50 Warhymn Testaments, one Treasure Box and five lots of 10 Enhancement XP Components by mail, and the Qualifier screen holds a separate track where every win claims a chest — 100 Warhymn Testaments, a Lucky Hero Gear Chest, a Treasure Box and one lot of 100 Enhancement XP Components. The source presents these as observed claims rather than a full table, and the page follows it.

The league missions pay in Warhymn Testaments: 20 for logging in on seven days, and 10 each for 150 alliance contributions, for gathering 70,000,000 resources, for rallying 35 Polar Terrors and for using 7,000 minutes of speedups. They also hand out items of their own, and more milestones appear as a mission advances.

The League Shop takes Warhymn Testaments, which do not expire between events — an unspent balance keeps until the league returns.

The shop also carries gear materials and chests the source does not price.
