Mercenary Prestige

Mercenary Prestige
Mercenary Prestige
Event
TypeSolo and Alliance
Cadence3 days, every 4 weeks

When: Every 4 weeks — Duration: 3 days

In Mercenary Prestige, you select a difficulty then kill 25 monsters. Levels 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 are harder. Summoning a mob costs 15 stamina (15 x 25 = 375 stamina). Defeating the mercenary costs 10 more stamina with a solo march, or 25 with a rally; Gina at 4★ brings those down to 8 and 20.

Personal Challenges

At the start of the event a player picks a difficulty tier — Champions, Epic, Legends or Fearless — and a level within that tier: Easy, Normal, Hard, Nightmare or Insane. Every level above Easy has to be earned by clearing the one below it during an earlier edition, so unlocking them all takes at least twenty completed events. Once the choice is made, all twenty-five waves stay locked to that tier and level until the event ends.

A mercenary is located by pressing Scout in the event tab, which costs 15 stamina and places the target on the world map for one hour. Failing to defeat it within the hour means paying the scouting cost again. Three ways of taking it down are available.

  • Solo march — 10 more stamina, or 8 with Gina at 4★.
  • Rally — 25 more stamina, or 20 with Gina at 4★.
  • Alliance Help Request — free, but limited to the Mercenary Contracts held. Every player starts the event with five, and earns one more each time they answer another member's request.
Method Total stamina With Gina 4★
All solo 625 575
All rally 1,000 875
5 help requests + 20 solo 575 535
5 help requests + 20 rallies 875 775

Strategy

  • During the event, only do Intel Missions, Bounties and Mercenary Prestige mobs.
  • Use Gina as much as possible to save stamina.
  • Free to Play players can complete it for free over 3 days if properly optimized (completing Day 1 takes approximately 40-45 stamina cans).
  • Select one of the latest difficulties you can beat mostly with solo marches. If you need to rally too much, it will cost too much stamina — unless you are a spender.

Using Alliance Help Requests

An Alliance Help Request posts the target and its location in alliance chat so that a member can call a rally on it, which saves your own stamina for the harder waves — levels 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25.

  • Kill difficult mobs with a solo march when you use your pet for Bear Trap or another event (shared buffs).
  • Kill difficult mobs with a solo march when you have active buffs, such as for Foundry or Sunfire Castle.
  • Each time you answer another member's request, you earn one extra Mercenary Contract.
  • Send requests even when you do not need them — the members who join the rally earn rewards on top of the wave rewards.

What the tiers pay

Rewards grow with both the tier and the level inside it, and two thresholds matter more than the rest. Fire Crystals only appear from Champions Nightmare upwards — the three easiest Champions levels give none at all. Chief Gear Materials Chests only appear from the Epic tier, at every level including its Easy. Every level pays Mythic General Hero Shards, Gems, speedups, Hero XP and a resources chest, in amounts that rise with the difficulty.

The twenty combinations are set out below. Two thresholds stand out: Fire Crystals start at Champions Nightmare, and Chief Gear Materials Chests from the Epic tier onwards, at every level including its Easy. Chief Gear Verity Chests wait until the Legends tier. From Epic upwards the Mythic General Hero Shards and the Hero XP stop moving — only the crystals, the chests, the gems and the speedups keep rising.

Fearless Insane is the one level whose resources chest is not published, and it is left blank rather than guessed.

Alliance Challenges

Once enough members have brought down high-level Phaethon Soldiers, an R4 or R5 member may request the right to challenge a Phaethon Captain. Calling one mails every member of the alliance and opens a 30-minute window to kill it. Members attack with individual marches rather than a rally, each chipping away at the captain's health, and everyone who took part is rewarded when it falls.

A captain can only be defeated once per event, but one that survives its timer can be called again. Five captains follow one another in difficulty.

Level Captain
1 Dr. Toxin Theodore
2 Zenobia, Queen of Violence
3 Helios Cannon
4 Callisto Mark II
5 Behemoth
