The first days in Whiteout Survival set the pace for everything that follows. This page gathers the guides that matter early, and the few decisions worth getting right from the start.
Where to start
- Upgrade the Furnace before anything else. It sets your settlement's level, and almost every other building is capped by it — a Furnace left behind blocks the whole city.
- Join an Alliance as soon as your Furnace reaches level 7. Alliance help shortens construction and research, and alliance members reinforce each other against attacks. Playing alone is the slowest way to progress.
- Keep all four base resources coming. Meat, Wood, Coal and Iron are produced by their own buildings and gathered on the world map; running dry on one of them stops construction and training alike.
- Train the troop type you will actually use. Infantry, Lancer and Marksman form a counter triangle, so a balanced army is safer than a specialised one until you know which fights you take.
- Spend Speedups on what blocks you. Early upgrades are short; the ones worth accelerating are those that gate a whole tier.
- Collect shards before chasing new heroes. A hero you can actually level is worth more than one you cannot.
