New Players - First Few Days
More actions
This guide covers your first 5 days as a new player in Whiteout Survival. It is aimed at both Free to Play (F2P) and light spenders. Focus on Furnace progression, Resources, and joining an active Alliance.
Day 1 & 2
Overview
Day 1 or 2, as a Free to Play (F2P) player, it starts to slow down a lot around Furnace 10. If you care to play seriously, you can achieve Furnace 11 to 13 in the first two days without spending money on the game. The limiting factor will be Resources and Steel if you play very actively.
If you want to play the game seriously, invest and buy two packs immediately:
- Construction Queue Pack (2 builders)
- March Queue Pack (1 extra march + troops)
If you do NOT buy the 2nd builder pack, unlock it for 2 days with 1000 Gems every time. It is costly in Gems, but it is really important to have 2 builders! Both will make your progress easier and faster!
Tips & Tricks
- Rush to level 7 to unlock joining an Alliance and join a VERY active alliance (top 1-2 alliances are usually A LOT BETTER and FAR more active).
- Use Gems to unlock VIP 2 and buy Resources from the menu Shop > VIP Shop as needed.
- Heroes: Focus on upgrading 5 heroes for XP and skills (Bahiti, Sergey, Molly and whatever you get first).
- Do your Exploration often to keep getting more Steel.
- Buildings priorities:
- Cookhouse, Shelters, Clinic, Infirmary and Storehouse can be left around level 6-8 to keep resources for more important buildings.
- Upgrade your resources production buildings to the maximum: Hunter's Hut, Sawmill, Coal Mine, Iron Mine.
- Use some Steel to upgrade the equipment as well (keep some for researches).
- Research Center and Steel:
- IGNORE Battle Research for now.
- Growth Research: Building time reductions, and progress toward Command Tactics research (one extra march queue per research).
- Economy Research: Upgrade ALL for the first few days.
- Look at Rookie's Growth & Trial events and complete them as they unlock.
- DO NOT use Gems to speed-up building/Research/training. Keep them to buy VIP points or discounted resources in VIP shop.
- Get all the free Gems from joining Discord, Facebook etc. (you can always leave after).
- Stay at VIP 2, accumulate Gems to get ready for your first Hall of Chiefs event.
- Make sure to participate in one Bear Trap event as soon as possible, it gives A LOT of Resources.
Early Packs to Consider Buying to Speed Up Your Growth
Please note that this applies for the first few days. Better packs will be made available later! You want mostly packs that will give you Speedups and Resources to have a great start! Packs that are 2000-3000% are FAR better than packs that are 1000%.
- Construction Queue Pack (2 builders)
- March Queue Pack (1 extra march + troops)
- Building Benefits Card (in Deals)
- Intel Monthly Card (in Deals)
- -50% Ultra Value Monthly Card (first purchase discount 50%)
- Fast Development Pack (Top-up center > Regular packs)
- Unyielding Dawn Pack(s)
- Unlocking Zinman to 1-2-3 stars with Daily Deals (and level up his second expedition skill: Construction cost down, and Construction speed-up)
- Daybreak Expedition (in Deals)
Day 3 to 5
Goals
Things are slowing down a bit, buildings are taking hours to build. Your main goal is to push towards Furnace 15-17+ (if 20+ for low spenders). Resources are still very limited: Food, Wood, Coal, Iron, Gems and Steel.
It is a great time to consider making a farm account. Later, around Furnace 23+ and up to Furnace 30, you will lack A LOT of Resources. A farm account is an account that is meant to feed your main city of resources when needed.
Look at "Trials" and "Rookie's Growth" events and make sure to stay on track with progressing these.
At level 13, you unlock the Drill Camp. Put your experience on ONLY 5 Heroes and add the other ones to the drill camp slots.
Don't forget to do your Exploration to unlock more Steel per hour.
If your Survivors are dying/keep being sick:
- Add a few levels to your Shelters
- Improve your Clinic and its equipment
- Improve your Cookhouse to level 10 and change the meal to a higher quality one (click on one stove, click on the "production" option and upgrade your cookhouse menu to the middle or bottom one).
If not done yet, register your progress: click on your portrait top left of the screen > Settings > Account and link your progress to one or multiple option(s).
Find an Alliance that you can do Bear Trap in every 2 days, it gives A LOT of Resources in the early days.
If you reach level 19, you will unlock the Sunfire Castle channel. But if you need to remember only one thing: rush your Tree of Life to level 10!
Priorities and Prepare for Your First Hall of Chiefs
DO NOT upgrade all buildings or all researches.
- Important buildings: Furnace, Embassy, Command Center, Research Center, Camps. Everything else, keep them below level 10 for now.
- Researches: still only do everything in Economy Research and in Growth Research, just do Construction & Research speed.
If you look at your calendar for upcoming events, you will see a Hall of Chiefs that will start on Day 5. Accumulate some Speedups, Resources, and keep many researches and buildings to upgrade for it.
For your stamina, if you have Gina's Revenge, use your stamina for Intel Missions. Keep your stamina cans for HoC (Hall of Chiefs).
Keep training the highest troop level. You will promote lowest levels to the highest level during HoC.
How to Get Resources
- Gather with all marches minus 1 at all time. If you have 3 marches, gather 2 and keep one march to auto-join rallies to take rewards from that too. If you have 4 marches, gather with 3 etc.
- Soon you will be able to do the event called Bear Trap every 2 days. This is a GREAT source of Resources and you should find an Alliance in which you can attend Bear Trap each time.
- When the VIP shop resets (on Monday), buy again Food & Wood and only the other resources if needed (more expensive).
- In your Chief's House, once a day, use these 3 chief orders in that order: urgent mobilization > productivity day > rush job. This will give you A LOT of Resources once a day.
