Gear Materials are the crafting components used to create and upgrade Hero Gear and Chief Gear in Whiteout Survival.
Material tiers
Gear materials come in quality tiers matching the gear they produce:

| Red | Legendary |
Higher-tier materials are rarer and produce stronger gear.

Uses
- Crafting and upgrading Hero Gears and Chief Gear
Chief Gear is raised with four materials — Hardened Alloy, Polishing Solution, Design Plans and Lunar Amber — whose cost tier by tier is set out on its own page.
Hero Gear is crafted from its own materials, then pushed further with Essence Stones in Mastery Forging, with Widgets for the exclusive piece of a Legendary hero, and with Mithril at Legendary milestones.
