Iron
More actions
Iron is one of the four basic Resources in Whiteout Survival. It becomes important in the mid-to-late game for high-level upgrades, advanced troops and gear crafting.
Acquisition
- Iron Mine — passive city production (unlocked at Furnace Level 5)
- Gathering — from iron deposit tiles on the world map
- Events & rewards — daily missions, Bear Hunt, State vs State and alliance events
The Iron Mine is the fourth and last production building a player opens. Its first level requires Furnace Level 5, and levels 1 to 5 all keep that prerequisite before the usual one-for-one gating resumes. The hero Smith adds up to 25% city output.
Two Economy Research lines carry the word Iron and do different things: Iron Output raises what the building produces — its first tier unlocks at Research Center Level 10 and grants +8%, +8% then +11% — while the gathering line raises what marches collect on the map. Outside the city, Iron is gathered from Abandoned Smelter tiles, whose yield rises with the tile's level.
Uses
- High-level building upgrades
- Advanced research and troop training
- Gear crafting (Hero Gears and Chief Gear) — see Gear Materials
Iron is the last of the four basic resources to appear in building costs, joining at level 6. It is also the least protected: a level 15 Storehouse shields only 160,000 Iron, against 3.2M for Meat and Wood. Anything held beyond the Storehouse's capacity can be plundered when the city is attacked.
