Smith is a Rare Infantry (Growth) hero in Whiteout Survival.
Lore
Smith comes across as an inconspicuous fellow running an everyday smithery in an average City, but his reputation for forging the best weapons has won him customers from all over the wilderness, and he will produce perfectly tailored custom weapons, guns or swords, if the price is right. Some say he is an expert in martial arts himself, which would explain his precise understanding of the weight, length and balance a perfect weapon requires. Wise troublemakers know better than to upset this humble blacksmith.
He prefers melee weapons to ranged ones, finding something exciting in the downward stroke of the rapier, the quick lunge of the scimitar and the deflected blow of the spear. His drinking buddy Eugene shares that taste, although Smith would rather he not use his well-crafted axes simply for logging. He loves the clang of hammer against anvil and the sparks of iron in the hot furnace, and claims to friends that he merely follows the "will" of the metal, whose "inner voice" he hears and interprets.
His forging talents did not come easily. As a child he was abducted and forced to work as a blacksmith aboard the steam submarine Neptune, a dark time made darker still by his fear of the sea and of confined spaces. After years of forced labour he suddenly heard a whisper from the metal he was working, and that same night he began to truly master forging. When the submarine docked for supplies, Smith used a secret weapon he had crafted to knock out the guards and escape.
