Eugene is a Rare Infantry (Growth) hero in Whiteout Survival.
Lore
Wood is crucial to building the Cities and its harvest is laborious; most lumberjacks do not take up the axe by choice. Eugene does, and he is passionate about it — happy to take on demanding tasks, restless when he is not physically exhausted, and no different in combat, where his large axe is a terror to anything in his way.
He is welcome in any City, loves his liquor in his free time, and is stubborn about his tools: no steam-powered chainsaw for him, only the axes forged by his drinking companion Smith, the sturdiest and easiest to handle. The blacksmith's one grievance is how often they have to be replaced.
That zeal has a cause. A major accident several years ago left Eugene seeing "evil spirits" everywhere; the constant anxiety drove him over the edge and, fighting the vision, he attacked the Chief of his City. Cast out into the frozen tundra, he was saved by a passing caravan. Dr. Philly concluded that excessive exposure to an unstable fire crystal had altered his memory and senses while making him incredibly strong and short-tempered, and found no cure — only that exhausting manual labour keeps the visions away. Logging has been his answer ever since.
