Wood is one of the four basic Resources in Whiteout Survival. It is used mainly for building construction, research and troop training.

Production

Wood is produced passively by the Sawmill in your city, and can also be gathered from forest tiles on the world map. Production and gathering rates increase with building levels, Economy Research and hero bonuses.

The Sawmill is the first production building a player opens, and the Furnace cannot reach Level 2 until it has been built. Like every production building, it yields nothing until Survivors are assigned to its workstations; six can work in it at once, and the furniture inside raises output and shortens production time.

Output is also raised from outside the building. The Wood Output line of Economy Research runs through six tiers of three levels, from Wood Output I at Research Center Level 3 to Wood Output VI at Research Center Level 30. The hero Eugene adds up to 25% city Sawmill output, and up to 25% wood gathering speed on the world map.

Uses

Wood is the resource the early city runs on. It is the only cost of the first three levels of every production building, and the Furnace itself burns Wood at its early levels before switching to Coal. From building level 11 onward, Wood and Meat are required in equal amounts.
