Speedups
More actions
Speedups are consumable items that instantly reduce the remaining time on construction, research, troop training or healing in Whiteout Survival.
Types
| Type | Applies to |
|---|---|
| General (Universal) | Any timed activity |
| Construction | Building upgrades |
| Research | Research technologies |
| Training | Troop training |
| Healing | Wounded troop recovery (Infirmary) |
Speedups come in five sizes — 1 minute, 5 minutes, 1 hour, 8 hours and 24 hours. A category-specific speedup is as effective as a general one on its category.
The table covers the city's own queues. Other speedups exist for things that are not city queues -- march and rally speedups, which shorten a march or a rally on the world map, and Expert speedups for the Dawn Academy -- and they are sold or awarded separately.

Where the minutes are worth points
Speedups are counted by name in a great many events, so the same minute can pay twice -- once in time saved, once in points:
- Armament Competition and Officer Project pay 1 point per minute of speedup, and hand out 1-hour speedups as rank rewards.
- Thanksgiving takes 2 hours of speedups for one bag.
- Beast Whisperer asks for 100, 200, 500, 1,000 then 1,500 minutes on its fifth day; Return to Tundra and State Merge for up to 2,000; Symphony of Changes for 2,000; Tundra Adventure for 1,000 in one mission and 2,000 in another.
- Tundra Games counts speedup use towards Energized Bread.
- Hall of Chiefs does not count speedups directly: its points come from the power gained, whatever it was that finished the job.
