Facilities are structures scattered across the world map around the Sunfire Castle, and they grant bonuses to every member of the alliance that holds them. They are not built: they are taken, and they change hands.
Reaching one
An alliance can only attack a Facility its territory touches. The territory is extended toward it by placing the alliance headquarters or a banner beside it; a Facility that borders no alliance territory cannot be attacked at all.
Taking and keeping
Control is won by occupying a Facility continuously for 30 minutes. It then holds for 3 days, after which the Facility can be challenged again:
- The holding alliance keeps it by defending for 24 hours.
- A challenger takes it by occupying it for 30 minutes.
- An alliance winning back a Facility it has just lost also needs only 30 minutes, because a change of hands resets the timer.
A Facility left in a vulnerable state grants no bonus at all. Rewards are paid to the controlling alliance the first time a Facility becomes contestable.
How the bonuses add up
Each Facility has a type and a level, and the level sets the strength of its bonus. Two Facilities of the same type stack their bonuses only if their levels differ; two of the same type at the same level do not stack. An alliance can benefit from 12 Facilities at once — reachable only through careful banner placement.
