Hero Gear refers to equipment that can be crafted and equipped on Heroes to increase their stats and effectiveness. Hero Gear is a key progression system for strengthening your heroes beyond level and star upgrades.

Overview

Each hero can be equipped with four pieces of gear, one per slot; Legendary heroes gain a fifth slot for their exclusive gear. Each piece grants the hero direct stat bonuses and a Command boost for the troop type that hero specialises in.

Equipment Slots

Heroes have four gear slots — Legendary heroes gain a fifth for exclusive gear:

Headgear — Hero Attack and Health, plus a Lethality boost for the hero's troop type
Gloves — Hero Defense and Health, plus a Health boost for the hero's troop type
Belt — Hero Defense and Health, plus a Health boost for the hero's troop type
Boots — Hero Attack and Health, plus a Lethality boost for the hero's troop type

Gear Quality Tiers

Gear has four base craftable quality tiers, each significantly stronger than the last; the higher Mythic and Legendary tiers are covered below:

Uncommon	Green	Basic gear, relatively easy to craft
Rare	Blue	Mid-tier gear with stronger bonuses
Epic	Purple	High-tier gear with the strongest bonuses

Each quality tier requires different crafting materials and provides progressively stronger stat bonuses.

A piece can also be fed to another to raise its Enhancement level, and what it is worth depends on its quality: 10 points for Common, 30 for Uncommon, 60 for Rare and 150 for Epic. Enhancement XP components do the same job.

Mythic and Legendary Gear

Beyond the base quality tiers, high-level hero gear advances through two endgame tiers:

Mythic — the highest craftable tier and the only one that supports Mastery Forging. Lower-quality pieces are consumed as enhancement fodder to level it up.
Mastery Forging opens once the Furnace reaches level 20 and the piece is enhanced beyond level 20. Mastery levels are then raised with Essence Stones, for a gear boost that adds to the enhancement level.

Mastery Forging runs over twenty levels. The first three cost 10, 20 and 30 Essence Stones and each adds 10% to the piece. From the fourth, every level is divided into five stages worth 2% apiece — ten per level — so that level 20 reaches +200%. A stage costs 10 Essence Stones at the fourth level and two more at each level after, up to 40 at the nineteenth; from the eleventh, a second material joins it, one unit per stage and two from the sixteenth.

Legendary — the top tier. Once a Mythic piece reaches Enhancement Level 100 and Mastery Level 10, it can ascend to Legendary by sacrificing two additional Mythic pieces.

Legendary gear is then empowered with Mithril at milestone levels, unlocking the strongest stat bonuses and special effects.

Crafting Gear

Gear is crafted from a hero's equipment screen — the game has no separate crafting building:

Collect required crafting materials from events, gathering, and gameplay
Open the gear screen from the hero you want to equip
Select the gear piece you wish to craft
Spend the required materials to craft it
Equip the crafted gear on your chosen hero

Crafting Materials

Materials needed for gear crafting are obtained through:

Alliance Events (Bear Hunt drops)
State vs. State (SvS) events
Daily quests and missions
In-game events and chests
Exploration activities

Chief Gear

Chief Gear is a special category of equipment worn by the Chief (player character) rather than heroes:

Provides city-wide or march-specific bonuses
Has its own upgrade and crafting system
Provides set bonuses for wearing several pieces of the same quality tier

Hero Gear vs. Chief Gear

Hero Gear — Worn by individual heroes, boosts hero-specific skills and the troop types they specialize in
Chief Gear — Worn by the player's Chief avatar, provides broader city or march bonuses

Pets

Pets are a related system where companions can be acquired and leveled up to provide additional bonuses:

Each pet has unique passive skills
Pets are leveled up using pet-specific materials
Higher-level pets provide stronger bonuses
Pets can focus on combat, development, or hybrid bonuses

Notes

Upgrade to Purple gear before starting on new Blue gear pieces.
Collect event materials consistently — gear crafting materials are primarily event-gated.
Match gear to hero type — use combat-oriented gear on combat heroes and development gear on development heroes.
Keep all six Chief Gear pieces at the same quality tier so both the three-piece and six-piece set bonuses stay active.
