Barricade

Barricade is a building in Whiteout Survival. It unlocks when the Furnace reaches Level 7.
Overview
The Barricade is a defensive building with 10 upgrade levels. Construction times are base times.
City defence
A successful attack sets the Barricade burning for thirty minutes, and its durability falls for as long as the fire lasts. Further attacks add to the remaining timer rather than restarting it, so the burn accumulates. The blaze can be waited out or put out with Diamonds, after which the damage can be repaired.
If durability reaches zero, the city is teleported to a random spot on the world map — losing its position and whatever territory bonuses came with it.
Tapping the Barricade opens the City Defense panel. It holds three hero slots, one per troop type, for the heroes that lead the city's defenders, and it is also where durability is restored — at most 240 points every thirty minutes.
Two updates changed how this works. The update of 4 September 2024 made the Barricade burn faster for non-members inside Alliance territory and added the City Defense bar shown while a city burns; the update of 4 March 2026 made it possible to help extinguish an ally's city from the world map.
Progression
The Barricade opens at Furnace level 7 and has ten levels. Its gates do not follow the Furnace one for one: levels 2 to 10 require Furnace 7, 10, 13, 16, 20, 24, 27, 29 and 30.
Raising it increases the durability the defence can absorb. The Barricade has no Fire Crystal tier, and it is never required for a Furnace upgrade — unlike the Sawmill, the Shelter, the Coal Mine, the Hero Hall and the Iron Mine.
