Crazy Joe
More actions
Crazy Joe is a timed alliance defence event in Whiteout Survival in which players defend against waves of attacks on their Furnace and their alliance headquarters while earning points by reinforcing alliance members.
The event becomes available once your Furnace reaches level 7 (the level at which alliances unlock).
Format
- Each round consists of 20 attack waves. Waves 10 and 20 target the alliance headquarters; the remaining 18 waves target the player's Furnace.
- Three designated waves award bonus points to players who are online during them.
- The event has 21 difficulty levels, each harder than the last, all keeping the 20-wave structure.
Rules
- A shield gives no protection during Crazy Joe.
- An R4 or R5 member schedules the event or launches it by hand, and chooses the headquarters where Joe appears; at least one headquarters must be standing for it to start.
- A player may take part in several editions, but only one per alliance, and the best score is the one kept.
- Teleporting during the event cancels the run of waves under way, whether waves 1 to 9 or waves 11 to 18.
- A city that loses two defences stops yielding points, both to its owner and to the players reinforcing it.
- Waves 10 and 20 strike the alliance headquarters. Troops already sent to other members can be recalled to defend it, then sent back out once the wave has passed.
- Climbing the 21 difficulty levels means reaching, level after level, the alliance point thresholds set for each.
- Waves 7, 14 and 17 single out only a few members: a player who is not a target then does best to reinforce the bases that are.
- A wave that attacks nobody scores nothing, for the alliance and for its members alike.
- A defender who loses keeps their resources: nothing is plundered during Crazy Joe.
Points
Points are earned by sending reinforcements to alliance partners, who reinforce in return. Higher scores are awarded when both players are online at the same time.
Points follow the kills a player's own troops make, so reinforcing a city that already holds plenty of reinforcements pays less — the kills are shared among the defenders. Infantry account for most of the kills in Crazy Joe, lancers for some, and marksmen for almost none.
Schedule
Crazy Joe runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays during State vs State, King of Icefield or Hall of Chiefs competition weeks, and lasts roughly 40 minutes. Rewards are distributed the following day at 12:00 UTC.
Rewards
- Alliance rewards, tiered by the alliance's collective points.
- Personal rewards based on individual points.
- State-wide ranking rewards based on personal score placement.
A reward is only handed over when both goals are met: the personal points goal and the alliance goal. The alliance total counts only the points its members scored while they belonged to it, and alliance rewards go to whichever alliance the player is in at 10:00 UTC the next day. The best personal score, however, is kept whatever alliance it was earned in — a player who moves to an alliance where they scored little still receives the milestone rewards their own best score entitles them to. Rewards also grow with the age of the state.
