Frostdragon Tyrant
More actions
Frostdragon Tyrant (FDT) is a monthly multi-state alliance battlefield event in Whiteout Survival in which selected alliances fight over the Frostdragon Capital, the surrounding Spires, and battlefield resources. The alliance that controls the Capital longest earns the title of Frostdragon Tyrant.
Eligibility
The best-ranked alliances of a Zone may enter, and the larger the Zone, the more places it has. Registration is opened by the alliance leader or an R4 officer during the sign-up phase, and the game weighs the composition of States, hero strength and Fire Crystals across the applicants so that the field stays balanced.
Dispatch is restricted to members who belonged to the alliance before sign-up closed, so joining an eligible alliance after that point does not give access to the battlefield.
Battlefield
The Capital is the primary objective and must be captured to accumulate Tyrant occupation time. The four Spires are strategic buildings scattered around the battlefield; capturing them aids in taking the Capital, and each Spire grants a unique buff to the controlling alliance. Spires are contested in alternating 30-minute intervals -- 30 minutes of open battle followed by 30 minutes of protected mode.
The first alliance to take the Capital earns a First Occupancy Reward for all of its members. The alliance that holds a Spire longest while it is open keeps its bonus for the following 30 minutes. Rally speed can also be bought: packs raise rally speed by 50%, from two rally speedups at level 1 up to forty at level 5.
The map
The battlefield is the size of a standard server, with a fighting area larger than the Sunfire Castle's, and it is split in two. The Dragon Crypt, inside the red line, holds the Capital at the centre of the map; the Border Region, marked by the yellow line, surrounds it, and every city is dropped there at random when the battlefield opens.
Shields do not work inside the Crypt: a Chief entering it loses the shield they were carrying and cannot raise another. A city defeated inside the Crypt is teleported back into the Border Region at a random spot.
Taking the Capital is not enough to claim it — the Old Guard defending it has to be beaten as well, and the first Chief to enter and defeat the Old Guardians receives a small reward of their own, separate from the alliance's First Occupancy Reward.
Dragonite
Dragonite is the key resource of the battlefield: it is what triggers the alliance crystal skills. It comes from two places, both in the Border Region and both on a 30-minute cycle. Frostdragon Escorts appear as soon as the Capital becomes attackable, can be attacked solo, and credit the alliance when they fall; Dragonite deposits surface fifteen minutes after the Capital opens and are gathered like any other node.
Infirmary
The battlefield infirmary has no capacity limit. A Chief who leaves the battlefield keeps their wounded in it until they are fully healed, but sending new wounded in — by joining a rally, for instance — kills whatever overflows the ordinary capacity. Troops sitting in the infirmary keep costing resources even after their Chief has left the battlefield.
Scoring
Personal Points come from fighting and from nothing else. Carnage Points count the enemy troops severely wounded in the Capital and Spire battles, and Casualty Points count one's own losses. Unlike the Sunfire Castle, holding a building earns no points at all.
Occupation
Only the rally captain's Capital occupation time counts toward becoming the Frostdragon Tyrant. Reinforcing troops help hold the Capital, but their Chiefs do not accumulate Tyrant occupation time.
Schedule
- Registration -- a 48-hour alliance sign-up phase, typically Monday and Tuesday.
- Combatant Dispatch -- a 48-hour phase in which troops are assigned to the battlefield, typically Wednesday and Thursday. The Championship Prediction opens here.
- Eve of Battle -- a 59-hour phase, typically Friday to Sunday, and the last window for placing predictions.
- Battle -- the battlefield is open for 7 hours; the Capital unlocks after the first hour and is then contested for 6 hours.
- Rearmament — a 55-hour phase after the battle, during which every participating State receives +500% healing speed and −30% healing cost.
Winning the title
The Chief whose rally held the Capital longest at the end of the battle is crowned Frostdragon Tyrant for the Zone. Where two Chiefs finish on the same occupation time, the one who reached it first takes the title.
The title carries a bonus of its own, which stacks with other title bonuses: +10% troop Attack, Defence, Lethality and Health, and +5,000 deployment capacity, along with a free pack.
The Tyrant may in turn grant four titles to Chiefs of their State, each stacking with other titles and each adding +2,000 deployment capacity: Bloodwyrm Emissary (+20% troop Health), Firebreather Vanguard (+20% Lethality), Scaled Guardian (+20% Defence) and Dragontooth Governor (+20% Attack). A limited number of Commendation Chests, of three kinds, can be handed out as well.
The feast is held once per reign, lasts one hour and cannot be cancelled. Its tables stay open to purchase for three days afterwards, and a Chief who orders Extra Courses has their avatar displayed above the tables while their dishes last the full three days, longer than ordinary ones.
The title lasts 30 days. Its holder also hosts a state-wide feast in their home State, at which every Chief may give up to five likes a day, each like granting the Tyrant 200 Gems.
Rewards
Rewards include Dawn Honor achievements and, in the Dragonborn's Truck, items purchased with Scaled Crystals such as hero shards, Mythic Hero Gear Chests, Fire Crystals and Lucky Hero Gear Chests.
Three kinds of reward are paid. Occupation rewards follow how long a Chief personally held the Capital; milestone rewards are granted immediately on reaching set Personal Point thresholds during the battle; and ranking rewards, based on Personal Points, are mailed once the Capital battle is over.
Side events
- Championship Prediction — Dragonmarks, earned here and in the Frostwind Journey, are spent in the Prediction Shop. Backing the winner of a championship-phase battle costs 1,000 Dragonmarks and up to three alliances may be backed at once; naming the next Frostdragon Tyrant correctly pays 10,000 Dragonmarks, and a wrong call refunds half the stake. Trivia predictions are free, cannot be changed once sent, and pay 1,000 Dragonmarks per correct answer. Results and winnings are mailed during the Outcome Notice phase, on day 9.
- Frostwind Journey — six days. Scaled Crystals come from missions or from packs; the daily missions reset at 00:00 UTC while the season missions never reset, and anything left unclaimed is mailed out.
- Dragonborn's Truck — seven days, with a daily login granting a Frostdragon Bounty Pack. The packs do not reset each day: they stay available until the event ends, within the limits of their stock, except the free pack, which renews daily.
- Champion's Eve — objectives pay Personal Preparation Points, and each threshold reached gives a chance at a Chief Chest. Every chest opened feeds the whole alliance's Alliance Preparation Points, which stay earned even if the player leaves the alliance. Those points unlock six infirmary levels that apply on the Frostdragon battlefield only, each level costing 50,000 Alliance Preparation Points: +100% healing speed, then −10% healing cost, +150% speed, −20% cost, +200% speed and −30% cost. They are separate from the Rearmament bonus every State receives.
